Do you know just what Puppy Farming is? 

 

Puppy farming is the term used to describe a premises which breeds puppies on a mass scale for profit with little or no regard to the welfare needs of the dogs. Much the like the production of Pigs on an intenstive/factory farm.

Below are regular conditions seen in both licensed and unlicensed dog breeding or otherwise know puppy farming establishments: 

  • No access to clean water

  • No bedding

  • No socialisation

  • Diseases

  • Deformities

  • Matted fur

  • Tumours

  • Severe ear infections

  • Mange

 


 What to do if you suspect a puppy farm?

  •  Unlicenced or licensed establishments and Pets Shops you suspect of breaking the law can and should be reported
  • Gather as much information about the establishment you can - The breeders name and address, contact numbers, breeds of dogs sold at the premises and save any newspaper advertisements and print online advertisements
  • Be very careful, do not attempt to tackle or confront the breeder. Organisations are there to lawfully conduct investigations with the necessary Laws to enable them to prosecute and take action
